Flower Power

On June 2nd, our very dearest friends, Joe and Sienna Faux had their beautiful baby girl stillborn. People kept asking me what they could do, so Dylan suggested planting flowers in the bare beds in front of their house. So we rallied up some donations and set to work. I expected up to 20 people, but come seven o'clock, streams of families could be seen marching down the streets. The group photo was taken after several people had already left. Kids and adults alike went nuts with weeding, tilling, planting, and watering. One lady exclaimed, "This is so much fun!" Another ward member told me, "This is the best Family Home Evening we've had in a long time."

Sienna told me that late at night, she and Joe went out to "look at our flowers" and stood in the middle for a good half hour. They did the same in the morning. She also said every time she looks out there, it makes her heart happy. So, thank you friends and family for all your help. It was a huge success!

How sad, and yet it makes MY heart happy to think they have such nice friends as the Higg Family. Way to go!

I agree with Amy. So very sad, but what a great way to honor her.
Thanks for the invite to your home.  We seriously ran out of time. It was go, go, go. Someday we would like to go to Utah and actually relax.
