Bailout is Bad Idea: 3 Reasons Why

President Bush keeps telling us that if this financial bailout isn't passed our country will go to ruins. He's wrong. If it does pass, then our country is one step closer to mega ultra hard times.

There are three reasons why we should REJECT the bailout.

  1. America doesn't have $700 billion. We'd have to borrow it.
  2. Once borrowed, the Federal Reserve will just make up that money. America doesn't have the gold or silver to back it up.
  3. That in turn makes our current dollar worth less.
A lot of people get excited about the idea of more money getting pumped into our economy. We should as long as the money is correct. The $700 billion will not come from a fair exchange of values. Instead it will just be made up and water down our purchasing power.

A lot of Congress agrees. This picture is a snapshot from CNN.com 9/25/08. It's refreshing to see the other side. CNN has been showing Bush a lot and I'm glad to see that they're showing both sides.

As you can read many people realize this is a bad idea. Ron Paul is one of them. He's put together a bailout summary with more info. There are even sample letters you can send to your Senators and Representative. Let them know what you think and want them to do!

I just heard an amazing statistic yesterday. Just over 50 years ago when Eisenhower was in office, the U.S. had a surplus budget. Now we have a national debt in the TRILLIONS. It really makes me disgusted. Edward and I have often said we think the downfall of this country will be financial. It certainly looks like we're headed that way.

It takes a lot more than just one man. Many, many people made many, many poor financial decisions, and now we're all paying for it.
