Lucky girl. Liv got checked out of school early to celebrate Gage's 4th birthday at the Dinosaur Museum. "Phew!" she exclaimed, "I'm glad I'm out because school was boring today!" I replied, "Well, maybe we shouldn't go to the museum, because it might be boring like school. You might learn something." This is where Gage piped up, panicked. "We won't! We won't!"
Since the dress up bin is overflowing with sparkly, lacy, glittery gowns, we figured it was high time the little dude got his own dress ups. Sherriff Woody was digging up some Psadulasaurus bones when a dirty rotten scoundrel chucked a brush blindly over his back into the sandbox, nailing the good Sherriff directly on top of his noggin.
The Sherriff promptly arrested the dastardly dimwit.
Four days later at his official Superhero birthday party, Gage got his 2nd present: a Buzz Lightyear costume complete with light up wings, space goggles, and laser gun (breaking my 6 year streak of not buying obnoxiously noisy toys). Now imagine, if you will, what happens to a naturally sweaty 4 year old boy wearing a vinyl Space Ranger suit on a hot August afternoon. I peeled his dripping body out just after the pinata was destroyed.
One of his gifts was $5 in golden dollar coins, which he was thrilled about. Towards the end of the party, the Superheros all heard the familiar tinkling of the local ice cream truck and wanted to go listen to the music. A few minutes later, each of them came back with a frozen novelty. "Gage bought us ice cream!" they all yelled with glee. Twas the best thing he could possibly have done with his birthday money. He is a real super hero!
On an amazing side note, I was the villain of the party, Check Mate, stealing things and hiding behind my ghoul (in the background). The Heroes had to get 10 balls through the ghoul to win a prize. Then I robbed the bank and strung the money bag pinata from the tree, and naturally, they had to swat it down to get the gold out. Olivia's Superhero name was "Fall in Love Girl". Her Superpower? "Making the bad guys fall in love with me, and when they try to kiss me I PUNCH them in the face!"

This is the coolest thing EVER!
I clicked on the last picture you got there of you and boy... I am going to have to go take a nap and close my eyes the rest of the day. I think they were zapped from their eye sockets after seeing that picture in larger than life mode. Goodness girl... where do you get this stuff? I really don't think you are part of our family. I wonder what your mom was eating when she was pregnant with you....
Nothing like having a mom that gets involved in the party. Sounds like you had a blast. I just wonder who had more fun.... you or the kids.

Aww man! I hate when Check Mate crashes my party!
Olivia is my kind of superwoman! Beautiful, but deadly (no charge for awesomeness).
Happy Birthday Gage!! What a great superhero you are! Not too shabby Leah :) Love the learning-at-the- museum reaction from Gage - best blog laugh today.
Yeah! Now that's a superhero I can get on board with?
Let's see how Fall In Love Girl feels about that in about 11 or 12 years. Personally, I hope she still PUNCHES them in the face if they try to kiss her.
That's right Gage, make sure you don't learn nothin' cuz you don't want to be no smarty pants. I love the Buzz costume and I'm proud of your generosity. Leah, wow, you look amazingly cool
